Firaxis has released its development roadmap for Civilization 7, promising UI updates and more refinements starting from today.
The first update, 1.1.0, is available now and adds a new natural wonder – Bermuda Triangle – as well as “additional UI updates and polish”. A further update, 1.1.1, will arrive on 25th March with another natural wonder – Mount Everest – and more UI polish.
Following the strategy game’s early access release, Firaxis acknowledged issues with the game as highlighted by its “passionate community” and identified key areas of focus.
The biggest priority was UI: “We need some time to digest all of your feedback, but some areas that we’re already looking into include making UI interactions more intuitive, improving map readability, fixing areas of polish like formatting, and more,” the developer previously explained.
The two March updates, as well as another in April and beyond, all promise to make UI improvements, which should appease players.
Update 1.2.0 will arrive in April, adding multiplayer teams functionality, new resource types, and a “one more turn” option in the Modern Age.
Modding tools will also be added in a future update, along with additional map sizes, AI improvements and – you guessed it – additional UI updates.

“We will support Civilization 7 for years to come, and your feedback remains critical in helping us grow and build the future of Civ,” Firaxis said in its previous post.
Civilization 7 released in full on 11th February. “A competent entry with some poorly executed ideas and a striking lack of personality,” reads our Civ 7 review.
