Shohei Ohtani, the premier two-way player in baseball, is coming to Fortnite.
The collaboration will feature Ohtani in his Dodgers’ uniform in a cel-shaded design. The Shohei Ohtani collaboration is adding a lot of new Shohei-themed cosmetics and events for you to enjoy — including a Solo Battle Royale tournament.
Here’s when Shohei Ohtani is coming to Fortnite, and what you can expect in the collaboration.
Fortnite Shohei Ohtani skin release date and time
Shohei Ohtani will be coming to the Fortnite Shop on Monday, March 17 at 8 p.m. EDT. Here’s when that is in your time zone:
- 5 p.m. PDT for the West Coast of North America
- 8 p.m. EDT for the East Coast of North America
- 12 a.m. GMT on Tue. March 18, for the U.K.

As for why March 17, the date matches his jersey number of “17”. As well as the debut bundle on this date, you can also unlock the Samurai Shohei outfit early by earning the most points in the Shohei Ohtani Cup on Saturday, March 15.
What to expect in the Shohei Ohtani Fortnite collaboration
The Shohei Ohtani collaboration is adding two bundles and emotes to the item shop, a set of quests, and a solo battle royale tournament.
Shohei Ohtani outfits and accessories
The first bundle will feature Shohei Ohtani in his Dodgers uniform — both home and away — and a LEGO style.
The bundle also comes with a Decoy Back Bling, a bobblehead based on Shohei’s dog, and the Trusty Two-Way Pickaxe, which is based on a pitching machine.
The second bundle will feature Shohei Ohtani in a samurai suit, which will catch on fire as you get more eliminations in a match, along with a LEGO style.
Additionally, you’ll receive the Samurai Screamer Back Bling, a reactive fiery baseball, and the Baseball Batana Pickaxe.
Two new emotes, Doggy Dingers and Hey Batter Batter, will also join the item shop and can be purchased individually or in the Shohei Ohtani bundle.
The Week 4 quests for Battle Royale modes will be centered around baseball and Shohei’s accolades:
- Finish 3 matches in the Top 17
- Eliminate 3 players beyond 50 meters
- Throw 17 items
- Deal 54 damage to opponents with The Kneecapper
- Travel 59 unites of distance while sliding continuously
These quests will be available on Tuesday, March 18 — the day after the skin’s debut — and last until the end of Chapter 6 Season 2.
On March 15, players will be able to participate in the Shohei Ohtani Cup, a Solo Battle Royale tournament. If you’re the top point-scorer in your region, you’ll receive the Samurai Shohei outfit, which can be seen in the image above.
Players can play up to ten games in a three-hour time frame with your points depending on your placement and eliminations. To participate in the event, you need to have two-factor authentication enabled and be at least account level 50.
