“Steps to Acquire a Vehicle and Start Driving in InZoi” Or: “Guidance on Purchasing a Car and Driving in InZoi” Or: “How to Buy and Operate a Car in InZoi” Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!

InZoi is in Early Access, meaning it’s full of gameplay features that will need to be fleshed out and tuned up over time. While there are currently many aspects of InZoi that fit that bill, my personal favorite, and the one I’m most looking forward to seeing more of, is the game’s driving mechanic. Here’s how to get a car in InZoi, and how to drive it, of course.

How to get a car in InZoi

First things first; to get a car, you’ll need to buy one using the Dream Car app on your phone, where you’ll find seven cars you can buy. Four of them are generic InZoi cars, and three of them are Hyundais. Once you make your purchase, you’ll find your car parked on the street outside your home. Then it’s driving time.

How to drive in InZoi

The best way to use your car is to select the “drive” option when you’re picking a place to visit on your city map. Once you’re done with that, your Zoi will walk out to the street, conjure the car with a little remote, and drive to their destination. If you hit Tab while in the car to shift to “shoulder view” mode, you’ll be able to enjoy the ride in a first-person view.

You can also manually drive if you want to, but you’ll need to enable the experimental manual driving setting in the gameplay portion of the settings menu. Then, you’ll need to click on your Zoi, choose the “car” submenu, and then click “Get in car (manual driving).” Once you’re in the car, you can drive in third-person view, or switch to first-person by hitting Tab. You don’t really need to sweat traffic laws much, and you can’t damage your car, but if you rear-end another car, you’ll have to deal with the other drivers the same way you would in real life–by yelling at each other about who’s fault it was, and probably making an enemy in life. But that’s the only consequence, and you won’t have to pay for damages or anything like that.

As it is right now, driving in InZoi is a superfluous feature. It’s not really any quicker to travel by car than it is to walk or take the subway, and the manual driving function is fun but serves only role-playing purposes rather than functional ones. On top of that, only the oldest member of a Zoi family can buy and use a car, and you can only own one car at a time, period. So don’t consider driving as it exists today to be an essential feature in InZoi, at least not until it works in a way that makes more sense.
