Effective House Cleaning Tips for InZoi

InZoi is poised to be the first real competitor to The Sims franchise ever, but the brand-new life sim obviously can’t just be a copy–when you’re going up against a game as well established as The Sims 4, you have to do some things differently.

One of these different things involves taking care of your home. In The Sims, you have to do the dishes, and clean up piles of garbage, but the key thing is that garbage only accumulates as a direct result of your sims doing stuff. If you left the house alone for a week, it’d be just as clean when you return as it was when you left.

But InZoi is a little more granular than The Sims 4 is in most respects, and house cleaning is one example. In InZoi, your home will naturally accumulate dirt and dust that you have to clean up regularly, or it will create a strain in your family’s relationships. This layer of grime is quite visible just from looking around–you’ll see a nice layer of grime on anything in the dirty area.

How to clean your house in InZoi

Cleaning up isn’t difficult, but you’ll need supplies first–you can buy a mop, broom, and vacuum cleaner in build mode. Once those items are in your house, you can clean away. If there’s just one room that needs cleaning, you can click on the floor anywhere in that room, choose the option to clean, and select whether to use the broom, vacuum, or mop, and your Zoi will get to cleaning the floor and any furniture in the vicinity. It doesn’t seem to matter which tool you use–they’ll all get the job done, though the “premium” vacuum seems to clean a larger area than the others.

If your whole house is messy, you don’t need to manually clean each room. If you click on any of your Zois, you’ll also be given the option to clean in their dropdown menus, and doing so will let you order your Zoi to clean up to five different rooms in succession. Though if your house is large and requires more than that, you’ll have to order them to clean again after.

How to hire a cleaner in InZoi

Naturally, you also have the option to simply pay somebody else to clean your house. If you pull up the Pocket Market on your phone, you’ll have the option to buy home services at the bottom, and you can hire a cleaner there. You’ll still need to pay attention, however, because when the cleaning person arrives you’ll have to let them inside yourself, otherwise your home won’t be cleaned.

Hiring a cleaning service is, for now, just a one-time thing, as there’s no option for recurring home services in Inzoi just yet. You’ll need to manually hire the cleaning service each time. This will happen fairly often because homes tend to get messy pretty quickly, just like they do in real life.
