Dungeons & Dragons fans can save big on the new Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy omnibus. The 1,056-page hardcover tome carries a retail price of $35, but Amazon is selling the fantasy novel series for only $25.64. Dragonlance Chronicles is one of the most celebrated book series set in the world of D&D. This handsome new edition has sold out multiple times since its release in February, and Amazon’s current discount is the best yet.
Third-party resellers have Dragonlance Chronicles listed for as low as $26.67 at Walmart, but buying directly from Walmart (shipped and sold) will cost you $34.15. Considering you’re getting three novels in one book that also happens to look like a display-worthy collector’s item, Dragonlance Chronicles offers solid value even at full price.
$25.64 (was $35)
Dragonlance Chronicles contains three classic fantasy novels co-written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman:
- Dragons of Autumn Twilight (1984)
- Dragons of Winter Night (1985)
- Dragons of Spring Dawning (1985)
The trilogy had been out of print for a long time before Random House Worlds reissued it on February 4; the most recent standalone edition of Dragons of Autumn Twilight was published back in 2006. As such, The Chronicles arc–widely regarded as the best novels in the wider Dragonlance book series–had been difficult to find in physical format for reasonable prices.
Along with a gorgeous new cover, Dragonlance Chronicles includes a foreword by actor (and hardcore D&D enthusiast) Joe Manganiello.
The series is based in the official Dragonlance campaign setting for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First and Second Editions, which itself was borne out of Hickman and Weis’ D&D sessions in the early 1980s. The high fantasy trilogy follows a band of adventurers who get swept up in an epic conflict known as the War of the Lance. The trilogy was published alongside numerous other official D&D works set in the Dragonlance universe, includings adventure modules, spin-off board games, video games, and more.
While the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy served as the official storyline for the original AD&D Dragonlance modules, future editions of D&D have also featured official modules and expansions set in the Dragonlance setting, including the most recent Fifth Edition. Aside from the official game materials, it has spawned over 190 spin-off novels, including two follow-up books to the original trilogy, Dragonlance Chronicles: The Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame. Unfortunately, physical copies of both books are sold out, but you can pick up Kindle and audiobook editions of Summer Flame at Amazon.

The most recent Dragonlance book trilogy is Dragonlance Destinies, which kicked off in 2022. Paperback editions of all three novels–Dragons of Deceit, Dragons of Fate, and Dragons of Eternity–are available at Amazon. Books 2 and 3 are also available in hardcover for nice discounts.
