Guidelines for Utilizing Energy Crystals in REPO

As you shop at the service station in REPO, you’ll notice energy crystals among the items. While a lot of the shop items are self-explanatory (guns? grenades? health packs?), these mysterious and expensive crystals don’t really have any instructions.

Below we explain what energy crystals do in REPO and how to use them.

What are energy crystals used for in REPO?

You need energy crystals to recharge or reload your weapons and tools. Weapons like the baseball bat and frying pan have a certain number of times they can hit things before they need to be recharged and guns will run out of ammo after use. Even items like drones and detectors will run out of juice, so you’re going to want to recharge them rather than just buying new ones.

That said, this is more of a mid- to endgame item, so you don’t need to worry too much about buying energy crystals within the first few runs. Focus on building up your stamina and strength first.

How to use energy crystals in REPO

Once you buy the energy crystals, they’ll automatically be loaded into your truck in the energy machine (full disclosure: I do not know what the machine is called). You can hold up to six crystals and they get exponentially more expensive the more you buy. Your machine will start with one crystal and a bit of juice.

To recharge your weapon or tool, just put it in the square-shaped bin next to the machine. You can see how much juice your recharge machine has by looking at the yellow bar on the right side. You’ll see it go down as your item recharges.

One crystal can fully recharge any item, so you’ll want to make sure the item you’re recharging is completely empty before dumping it in, to make the most of the crystal.

You can also buy a recharge drone, which you can carry with you to recharge items on the go. This is great for longer expeditions, allowing you to use whatever weapon or tool you want. It also recharges with energy crystals, so think of this as using a nifty little battery pack.
