Twisted Metal Season 2 will debut on July 31, Peacock has confirmed. The streaming company made the announcement in a teaser video that also shines a light on the Season 2 villain: Calypso.

Calypso is played by Anthony Carrigan, who is known for his roles in Barry, Gotham, Fatherhood, and Bill & Ted Face the Music. Season 2 focuses on the Twisted Metal tournament, a “sinister demolition derby” hosted by Calypso.

Season 2 brings back Anthony Mackie as John and Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet–both are entering the derby, during which they have to try to survive against a variety of other participants. These include the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, who is voiced by Will Arnett and played by Joe Seanoa AKA Samoa Joe. Season 2 also features John’s sister, the vigilante Dollface (Tiana Okoye).

Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Cai) is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Twisted Metal. Deadpool veterans Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are executive producers along with Mackie and Arnett.

The Twisted Metal series hails from Sony Pictures TV, Universal Television, and PlayStation Productions. The latter is PlayStation’s movie and TV unit that is also behind all of Sony’s other upcoming projects, including the upcoming Until Dawn and Helldivers movies.
