Hollow Knight: Silksong’s release window has been clarified, with anticipation building for its arrival on the Switch 2.

This is not a drill. During this afternoon’s Nintendo Direct dedicated to Switch 2, we got the briefest of looks at Silksong. Yes, guys, it finally happened.

Now, by brief, I really mean brief. Silksong was shared as part of a collection of games coming to the console in the future.

BUT, here is where the news is at. Along with this snippet, Nintendo confirmed Silksong will be released this year. A 2025 date was attached to the snippet. So, yes, it isn’t exactly a super firm release date, but it’s much more than we had yesterday.

It has been six years and a bit since Hollow Knight: Silksong was first announced, and ever since then we have been seeking out any crumb of information about the upcoming game.

And yet, since that now slightly hazy day of February 2019, developer Team Cherry has kept release details under relative wraps (although in January, the team did assure us that Silksong is “real, progressing and will release”).

Elsewhere this afternoon, we got a look at Mario Kart World, which will be a console launch title, as well as the news Elden Ring, Split Fiction and a Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Hyrule Warriors prequel will all be coming to Switch 2.
