"Longing for a bit of Sonic action? No worries—soon you’ll be able to carry him everywhere with Sonic Rumble, launching on mobile devices this May!"

Have a Sonic shaped hole in your heart? Well, there’s some good news! Sonic Rumble, a 32-player multiplayer mini-game battle royale, is coming to PC and mobile on May 8.

The game, which features a brightly coloured recreation of classic Sonic moments and locales in a poppy 3D form, will allow you to pick you favourite Sonic character and take on others over the globe. It’s essentially a Sonic-themed Fall Guys, having you take on a vast variety of different challenges head to head, all in order to find an overall winner.

First revealed in May of last year, the game recently passed 900,000 pre-registered players, which isn’t too shabby, and which will net players a Garnet Knucles skin when the game launches. Hilariously, there’s one more reward to be earned by early signees, but the official page doesn’t show how many players it takes to actually unlock the final Sonic skin. So who can say whether the Sonic Rumble community is close to hitting their final goal a month before release?

Will Sonic Rumble take the world by storm next month? It’s hard to tell. Sonic as a brand is still very popular, and has its own dedicated base of fans who’ll jump into pretty much anything with Sonic in it. But, on the other hand, this style of party game battle royale isn’t exactly the hottest genre right now. We’re a while from the Fall Guys gold mines, after all. Who knows! Maybe Sonic Rumble will prove me wrong.

Either way, you can sign up for the game now ahead of its release on May 8 for PC and mobile. Let us know if you’re be playing it on launch below!
