PowerWash Simulator 2 Set to Make a Splash Later This Year

When PowerWash Simulator debuted in 2022, it could have easily been just another chore game. Instead, the game’s developer, FuturLab, infused PowerWash Simulator with its own mythology and a story with sci-fi elements that slowly plays out over the course of the game. Later this year, FuturLab is sending players back to Muckingham in PowerWash Simulator 2. And in the first teaser below, players will get a glimpse of some “soap-erior equipment” they’ll be able to use to finally clean up this incredibly dirty town.

The gnomes from the first game are briefly seen in the teaser as they unveil the sequel. While FuturLab didn’t actually confirm another wild underlying story, it did mention that there will be a new campaign that allows players to uncover “more of Muckingham’s mysteries.” PowerWash Simulator 2 will also introduce new locations, including Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City.

Players will get access to more-powerful cleaning tools, but the addition of a shared co-op campaign may allow the game’s cleaning jobs to go even faster. Online play is supported, and there’s even the option for split-screen cleaning action. Surprisingly, one of the other new features allows players to modify and customize their own homes with furniture and objects. According to FuturLab, players can even “invite your power wash pals over to check out your pad.” However, that feature isn’t glimpsed in the teaser.

Earlier this year, FuturLab ended support for PowerWash Simulator VR, while noting that the company avoided layoffs by shifting its team members to other projects. The original PowerWash Simulator had Tomb Raider DLC and even a Final Fantasy 7 collaboration with Square Enix. For now, there’s no word about whether PowerWash Simulator 2 will have crossovers of its own.

FuturLab will share more news about PowerWash Simulator 2 in April. The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam, and it will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in late 2025.
