The upcoming Diablo 4 season will feature a PTR, and the reason behind it will be revealed tomorrow.

Blizzard has announced that the next Diablo 4 season will also preceded by a PTR (Public Test Realm). This has become something of a habit for the developer, after spending months creating seasonal content without players’ involvement.

The Season 8 PTR will debut patch 2.2.0 content. Just the fact that it’s getting a PTR at all suggests some major tweaks coming to the game.

As we’ve come to expect, of course, the developer will be hosting a Campfire Chat to talk all about the upcoming 2.2.0 PTR. The livestream will be taking place tomorrow, Friday, March 7 at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm UK.

The PTR will once again be limited to PC, and only Battlenet. Outside of the new content we can expect in the upcoming patch/PTR, Blizzard will also share some details on any balance tweaks coming to the game with the patch.

It is interesting, however, that the blog post does not mention anything about the next season’s theme, or whether content from the seasonal quest will be present in the PTR. Season of Witchcraft had much of it spoiled in the PTR held just before the end of last year, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the same happens with the next one.

We’ll find out tomorrow. You’ll be able to watch the show on Diablo 4’s official channels on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and TikTok.
