Go Tour: Unova has a set of rotating habitat spawns and bonuses across the weekend of aturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2 in Pokémon Go
As the name implies, the event focuses on the Unova region, including tie-in references specifically to the mainline games, Pokémon Black and White (and Black 2 and White 2, if we’re being specific).
The event has loads of perks that aren’t behind a paywall — though yes, there are a few bonuses behind a paywall, including boosted XP and Stardust from egg hatching and raiding. These tickets came as part of the “Road to Unova” event and the effects will carry out during Go Tour: Unova. There’s also the paid deluxe version of the Go Tour Pass, that gives you more rewards, but isn’t necessary for enjoying the event.
This is a great opportunity to fill in some of the blanks of your Unova Pokédex if you’re still missing Pokémon, but you also will want to do your best to get a Black and White Kyurem with fusion, which make their debut with this event.
That’s enough harping about Kyurem — take a look at all the Go Tour: Unova perks, the rotating habitat schedule, egg hatches, and other event features below.
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova event bonuses
This is a free-to-play event with no specific paid entry ticket to access the following bonuses:
- Five-star raid targets will have a chance to get a special event background based off of the mainline game they’re from
- All eggs placed into incubators during the event will have halved hatch distance
- No limit on remote raids all weekend
- Up to 6 special trades per day on Saturday and Sunday
- Halved Stardust cost for trading all weekend
- Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, and Durant will appear as rewards for Party Play
- Both the red- and blue-striped form of Basculin will appear more often when doing routes
- Unova-region Pokémon will learn their legacy moves when evolved during the event
All of that is in addition of the “It’s Not Over Yet” Special Research that will rewards you with some candy and fusion energy for whichever specific Legendary you pick — as well as the guarantee for one or the other to know Glaciate (required to get this year’s new Adventure Effects) in raids during the event.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova boosted spawns
The boosted spawns correlate with habitats, which change every hour. Each habitat will rotate in twice per day.
All four habitats have special hat-wearing Pikachu. There’s four of them and they’re wearing the protagonists’ hats from the Unova games.
Notably, Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear are regional Pokémon. Though they have appeared outside of their respective regions for other events, if you need more candy to evolve them or you don’t have them yet, now is a good time to try to nab them.
Deerling is also a special case where it usually only appears in its seasonal form in that respective season. So if you want to try to nab more Deerling for your collection without having to wait months for the form to swap around, you should keep your eyes out for them. Deerling and Sawsbuck are also available shiny for the first time.
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova special legacy moves
As part of the event, these Pokémon will learn their respective legacy move when evolved:
- Servine → Serperior: Frenzy Plant
- Pignite → Emboar: Blast Burn
- Dewott → Samurott: Hydro Cannon
- Boldore → Gigalith: Meteor Beam
- Gurdurr → Conkeldurr: Brutal Swing
- Sewaddle → Leavanny: Shadow Claw
- Karrablast → Escavalier: Razor Shell
- Eelektrik → Eelektross: Volt Switch
- Lampent → Chandelure: Poltergeist
- Fraxure → Haxorus: Breaking Swipe
- Shelmet → Accelgor: Energy Ball
- Zweilous → Hydreigon: Brutal Swing
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Field Research and rewards
Spinning a PokéStop during the event may yield one of these Field Research Tasks:
- Power up Pokémon 5 times (Pikachu [any Go Unovan hat] encounter)
- Power up grass- or bug-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Spring] encounter)
- Power up fire- or flying-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Summer] encounter)
- Power up psychic- or ghost-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Fall] encounter)
- Power up ice- or rock-type Pokémon 5 times (Deerling [Winter] encounter)
- Transfer 10 Pokémon (Red-stripe or Blue-stripe Basculin encounter)
There’s also “enigma” research that cycles out with the habitats. The task for these is the same: “Catch 10 different species of Pokémon first discovered in Unova” and it rewards many different Unovan Pokémon, but with the special event background.
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova egg hatches
Any eggs you get during the event period have the chance of hatching the following Pokémon.
- Roggenrola
- Timburr
- Karrablast
- Shelmet
- Larvesta
- Throh
- Sawk
- Heatmor
- Durant
- Larvesta
- Maractus
- Sigilyph
- Bouffalant
- Larvesta
Notably, Maractus, Sigilyph, Bouffalant, Throh, and Sawk are all also regional Pokémon that usually don’t show up outside of their usual regions. Heatmor and Durant are migratory Pokémon, which follow similar rules, but they do swap locations sometimes. Maractus did show up during the 2024 Pokémon Go Fest, so you may already have one.
Maractus, Sigilyph, and Bouffalant are also making their shiny debut with this event.
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova raid targets
